You will be working with a small group of students to research an explorer from the Age of Discovery (c.1300 – 1620).
After you have completed your research you will then present your ideas and knowledge in a format negotiated with your teacher. (Some ideas could be: a report, a newspaper article, a video interview, poem etc) This will be an individual task.
Your research skills and working behaviour are the most important part of this task and are what you will be assessed on. The skills we are looking at are:
Research Skills – forming questions, note-taking Self-Management Skills – time-management, organization Communication Skills – speaking, listening, reading and writing Thinking Skills – synthesis (bringing ideas together from many sources – internet, books, discussion) Social Skills – cooperation and group decision- making
You will be citing all of your information. Don't forget plagiarism is a crime.
